Lovers of pizza can blow. That Gelateria recently closed has been taken over by a new pizzeria: place à La Barca. If a few months ago we had told Christian Gauthier, manager of the brand new brand, that he wanted to own a pizzeria on Saint-Brevin-les-Pins (Loire-Atlantique), he must have thought of a joke!
But after 34 years spent in Switzerland, the native of the coastal town “believes that he needed a return to the sources. I always wanted to open a restaurant, it took me over thirty years to do it!”
When Alicia, my goddaughter, came to see me in Lausanne and told me she was accompanying me in my project, I began.
Pasta and pizzas with fresh products
And so in record time, Barca’s work began: from floor to ceiling, the premises were expanded and refurbished. Here, too, the family played a prominent role. Christian Gauthier amusingly emphasizes “the invaluable help of my brother Galut and his jovial group of pensioners who redid the premises from A to Z”.
Since 11 October 2022, Christian and his goddaughter Alicia have welcomed customers in a vintage and cozy atmosphere. The only pizzeria open all year round in sea districtBarca is already gaining a following, and the two restaurateurs note with satisfaction a “super opening, with an average of 50 pizzas a day”.
Fresh pasta and homemade desserts
In fact, many curious people and gourmets have already enjoyed the pizzas whose dough has rested for 48 hours. fresh pasta and homemade desserts (tiramisu, pana cotta, Nantes cake…), while you quench your thirst with a beer or a glass of wine.
The specialty of the house? La Barca of course, pizza whose recipe … Swiss should please some taste buds!
