A famous news anchor has decided to take a sabbatical to devote himself to a new career: to start singing!

A TV journalist who voluntarily chooses to withdraw from the antenna has already been seen before. Audrey Pulvar or Léa Salamé due to the political activities of their companions or Catherine Matausch for health reasons. Giving up TV to… sing is unheard of.

However, that is the choice made by Kareen Guiock Thuram, the presenter for 12:45 of M6. She will no longer voluntarily present the M6 midday newspaper from 2 January 2023.

The 45-year-old presenter explains to Tele-Leisure : “I have always composed and sung. It is truly a part of my life. When I started 12:45 in 2012, it was such a mobilization of energy that I had to put it on pause. But in today I came back to what is important to me”.

In 2009 Kareen Guiock recorded a duet with singer Domiique Panol. Six years earlier, she had written several lyrics on the singer Saya’s album.

The journalist gives himself several months to fully embark on this new activity. She will be back on the M6 in September 2023. In the meantime, the interim will be provided by journalist Nathalie Renoux during the week and by Dominique Tenza at weekends. 12:45 is watched by an average of 1.6 million people, i.e. a market share of 12%, according to Médiamétrie.
